Escaped!

As I was getting Jake ready for bed tonight, Jeremy was bringing his samples in from the car. Jake saw the sprinklers and dashed out there in his mismatched pj's!

Cool Dudes

We have days where Jake wants to share his stuff so much with Julie that she gets overrun, and then we have days where he wants to steal all her stuff (don't even think about sharing his own things). Today was a share everything day, and Jacob insisted Julie wear his sunglasses. Pretty darn cute if you ask me, then again I'm slightly biased.

4 Months Old!

Today Miss Julie-bug turned 4 months old! I can't believe she's been with us that long already, and I can't believe we ever lived without her. She is truly a sweetheart. Don't get me wrong, she will let you know in no uncertain terms if she needs something, but she has such a tender spirit. She definately wanted this to be a week to remember, we had two new firsts! She cut her first tooth on Wednesday and last night she slept in her crib for the first time.

I wish I could report a full night's sleep on my part last night, but we've got yet another cold in our family. Jake and Julie took turns waking Mommy up last night. Jake is excited about his new roommate, Julie's content as long as she has her thumb, Daddy is happy his 'little piggy' is in her own bed, and Mommy is a little sad to see her baby growing up (even if it is just a little bit).

Stickers!

Every day we put a sticker on Uncle Brian's mission count down, and right after that Jake loves to decorate himself and anyone else nearby. Usually we use little star stickers for the countdown but these ones show up better for pictures. Good thing they aren't expensive - we usually use four or five a day!

I had to throw in a picture of Daddy and Jake being silly. Don't ask me what they are doing but they sure were having fun!

Summersaults

I've gotten a little behind on my posts so I am posting a bunch all on one day. The day after we got home from Las Vegas (Wednesday), we were all sitting in the family room when Jake decided to show off his new skill - summersaults. We'd tried to teach him this awhile ago, but he could never quite push himself all the way over. I need to take a class in sports action photography - trying to capture a summersault in action is pretty tricky!

Las Vegas

** Post still in progress, waiting on pictures from Grandma's camera to finish **

Yesterday I started a post all about our Las Vegas Trip and then our power went out before I could save it. We had lots of fun, especially since Grandma babysat Jake and aunt Chelsea flew out to tend Julie. We saw a bunch of shows:

  • Danny Gans (we heard he was a comedian, turns out he's a musical imitator)
  • Mandalay Bay Shark Aquarium (fun, but we wished Jake was there)
  • Phantom of the Opera (front row seats made it very fun)
  • Blueman Group (excellent performance, hard to explain but best show we saw)
  • Bodies (real preserved cadavars make it educational and creepy at the same time)
  • Mystere (fun circ de solie performance)
Jeremy got a full body massage and I got a facial - we felt very pampered. Jake loved spending time with his grandparents and aunt. Julie was a little fussy for aunt Chelsea, and it turns out it was because she was teething and we didn't even realize it!

More pictures (and posting) to come when I get them off Grandma's computer!
